Mirplay designs two classrooms prototypes to fight the COVID-19 pandemic

The classrooms after the lockdown are finally a reality. In Mirplay we have designed two prototypes to fight the COVID-19 pandemic in schools.
With the reopening of schools it is essential to obtain and guarantee a good distribution of space in order to develop the activities with the utmost security.

The new classrooms, designed by Mirplay, and named Healthy Classrooms, consist of versatile furniture that is adaptable to the different circumstances and needs of the moment. Its priority is to offer classrooms that allow social distancing among students and minimize the risks of contagion as a key element.

“Both distributions allow activities to be carried out normally during school hours in the same classroom”

On the one hand, individual activities can be carried out, ensuring the minimum safety distance of 2 meters between students, with an individualized work space that allows a quick and easy disinfection.

On the other hand, Healthy Classrooms can also carry out collective activities using mobile equipment. This furniture guarantees an interpersonal space of more than 2 meters.

In addition, with the recent improvement in the manufacture of portable chairs, known as Ztool, teachers and students can move outside to develop activities, minimizing the risk of contagion.

To conclude, as Coral Regí, of Escola Virolai very well indicates, “As schools, we must be able to guarantee safety and hygiene measures, maintaining pedagogical proposals for cooperative work and active methodologies. But above all, ensuring that we maintain the relationship and the bond between students and educators, which is the essence of education and the accompaniment that the School has to make.”
